Abstract

Framed in the favorable historical situation lived in the United Provinces of the Netherlands (17th century), this paper rescues the life, work and eventual mutual relationship of two contemporaries from Delft (Holland): the microscopist Antonie Philips van Leeuwenhoek (1632-1723) and the painter Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675).
